Mood boards are used to collect a group of colors from various sources that will affect the color choices of a new design/project. The problem I have found over the years is that student’s mood boards bear little resemblance to their final products. The reason for this is students simply pick colors and tend to overlook that the appearance of those colors is dependent on their relationship to another color (transition) and how big they are (percentage in the design).
